THANKSGIVING FOOD DRIVE

Results of our Food Drive

We thank our community for showing up and participating in our Thanksgiving Food Drive. We are grateful for your generosity and support in helping the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano Counties make sure no children, seniors, families, and neighbors go hungry, especially during these challenging times.

We collected 807 pounds of food, and every 1.25 pounds of food equates to one meal, so we had collected enough food

for 646 meals!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support and belief that no one should go hungry.

Why support our Thanksgiving Food Drive?

Food access is essential to community justice, and volunteering or donating food reminds us to keep an open mind and heart.

You see, hunger is usually not a food problem; it's a logistics problem. Around 15-30% of food in emerging economies is wasted. Every year, billions of pounds of food go to waste, while 1 in 4 people are malnourished.

Thanksgiving Food Drive

To have the opportunity to run this food drive reminds me of how fortunate we are. I can't think of a better way to give thanks for all we have than sharing our food with the most vulnerable members of our community.

Everyone deserves to enjoy a Thanksgiving dinner with their family or friends. Let's share our abundance by being part of our food drive in November.

Don't hesitate to contact us if you would like to participate in our Thanksgiving Food Drive.

Giving Thanks, Giving Back!

This year's Thanksgiving Food Drive is particularly humbling and, at the same time, special for me.

Our local Food Bank serves 80,000 more people each month than before the pandemic, and is committed to never turning anyone away.

All this is possible because of our generous community!

"100% of all the non-perishables collected during the food drive goes directly to the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano. A representative of this entity will pick the collection barrels on Wednesday, November 24th, for their distribution to individuals and families with a critical need of food security." - Angelina Schapiro.
